The Lifeblood Chronicles I
The earth cried the day I left. Fountains of molten flame ripped from the earth scouring the land. In the books they called it magma. But that was before. Now we call it lifeblood , the molten fire that we must brave. Now some worship it. Now some hate it. Now some watch it from the safety of their cities, scorning the people that live the great wastes, the ones that brave the lifeblood to study the remains of a civilization long dead. The speak of us as animals, as the base born scum of the earth. They did not note the day I arrived. They soon would. In my relatively short life I had rarely left the Wastes. And those who entered them were del
you wish for glory?
the glory of battle were the dying screams of soldiers echo and the sand runs red?
the glory of conquest with its burned villages and slaughtered villagers?
the glory of siege with its people starving in the streets?
Yes this is the glory you ask for
the glory of death
A change
something different
a silent tension
a silent war
a bond is tensed
a survivor is hurt
a watcher is crying
the watcher is breaking
the survivor is struggling
a puppeter is tugging at the strings
and the guardian doesn't see
The Sword dropped
the king slayer
The empire builder
the defender and attack of kingdoms
it fell
like all the empires it built
like the kingdoms it defended
like the men it slayed
And yet for all it had done
it still fell
when the bearer
dropped it
to the ground
The dreamer
the thinker
the doer
the creator
the engineer
the builder
the 3 stages
stages for everything
for building
composing
drawing
writing
living
and in the end
for helping others
live as we do

The Flow of the World
The world turns on
without me
it moves
around me
it flows
and I stand
watching
waiting
to join the flow
but I am a rock
unmovable
unbreakable
standing
in the flow
of the world
She sat beside him waiting
for the inevitable
His armor now laid in a pile
his sword was in his hand
he opened his eyes
lifted his sword
and gave it to the girl
she took it
and as she did
his eyes shut
and he died
Alone
in a cave
armor tattered
sword dull
he lays
blood covering his armor
much of it not his own
a girl
walks into the cave and sees the man
The man looks up
and says
help
me
